McKarlen Restores Clean Water Sources for Villages in Lombok

A massive earthquake — registering 604 magnitude rocked the island of Lombok, NTB on July 29, 2018, sending debris crashing to the ground, damaging buildings and causing “major infrastructure damage,” officials said. It’s mourning time for Lombok Island. There were 20 people dead, 401 injured. After the earthquake, rehabilitation and reconstruction began. One of the most important is to restore the source of clean water.

McKarlen Indonesia as one of the company engaged in Water Pumps was also in mourning and felt the need to get involved in helping the disaster recovery. One of the severely affected locations is in the East Lombok Regency, precisely in Sikur District, Jeruk Manis Village, West Nusa Tenggara Province, Lombok Islands. The need for water in this village is quite alarming after the earthquake.

McKarlen Indonesia is donating it’s 4 inches x 1.1kW submersible pumps with the capacity of 3 m3/hour powered by 10 x 300WP solar panels. This is enough to supply clean water for the 3 villages. The pump installation process was carried out for 2 days and assisted by local villagers. The donation was officially received by the head of the Jeruk Manis, Village Chief, Mr. Nurhadi Muis

Mr. Nurhadi Muis on behalf of Jeruk Manis villagers expressed their sincere gratitude to McKarlen Indonesia for its valuable donation of a Solar Pump set. “Now we don’t have to worry about finding clean water anymore”, said Mr. Muis.
