Some projects carry great prestige, and this is probably one of them: The fountain stand in front of Si Jalak Harupat Stadium in Soreang Simpang Selegong, Kopo, Kutawaringin, Bandung, West Java, Indonesia. Recently the stadium was renovated to improve the existing facilities to be suitable as an international stadium. Stands, dressing room, ticket counter, and some parts around the stadium is now considered to meet the standards set by Asian Football Confederation (AFC). Si Jalak Harupat is also a nickname of an Indonesian national hero Oto Iskandar di Nata.
But these prestige projects take on extra dimensions – and this was one of them, too: The fountain has a round shape with over 84 nozzles. The installation is designed so that it can be admired by all viewers-regardless of the respective locations. The other feature that made this project so unique was the utilization of several McKarlen drainage pumps which was proven to be a great success fountain project at the Gedung Sate which serves as the seat of the governor of the province of West Java. The project was initiated at the request of Dinas Pendidikan dan Olah Raga (DISPORA) Kabupaten Bandung.

Given the brief time to completion, we knew we had to have our pumps and control systems completed, delivered and ready for placement quickly. This need for speed took what might have been a very straightforward project and complicated it considerably: Instead of months for preparation, assembly and testing, we had weeks – and what we produced had to be fully ready to go, basically in plug-and-play form. In other words, it was a fast-track project and we have no room for errors or delays.
All of this would have been much easier to accomplish had the construction time been close to normal. In this case, however, the clock was always ticking urgently. By the time we were ready to deliver it to the fountain construction site, the package and the materials had been well prepared by Mr. Dedi, Hasil Mandiris’ operations/production manager who is responsible of representing McKarlen products in Bandung, under the direction of Mr Eason Yeh, Regional Sales Representative from McKarlen Asia’s Regional Headquarter. The package included: 5 units of Waste water & circulation pumps
For purposes of the installation, we outfitted the panel with our own design fountain-control system. Once everything is all set, we went back and prepare everything to allow for remote system monitoring and control through the stadium’s own facilities.

In normal situation, assembling and testing such an array of equipment would have taken two or three months as we moved from design approval to delivery. In this case, we focused on solutions and essentially cut the time in half, preparing the pumps, control panel and its contents for delivery to the site for immediate installation by the highly experience Hasil Mandiri’s team.

Based on our customers’ original ideas the McKarlen team develops fountain concepts that are suitable for local conditions and the particular needs of the stadium.
